I will be good for a cookie. Preferably, Girl Scout.

I found these pajamas at Target.  They say "I will be good for a cookie" and the pants are pink with chocolate chips.

I so look forward to the day when I can bribe Olivia with a cookie.  "Here, Livi, I will give you this Samoa if you sit still and smile so that I can manufacture some happy memories to record on film!"  Right now, most of my pictures turn out like this:

And really, if I'm going to buy cookies, I need someone else to eat them with me.  I cannot resist adorable Girl Scouts, first of all.  And second, Samoas complete me.  I am totally serious when I tell you that I ate 9 Samoas last night, followed by 5 for breakfast this morning ohmygod somebody stage an intervention over here!

I totally rationalized the purchase of eight boxes* of Girl Scout cookies by telling myself that I would only eat ONE serving per day.  160 calories, worst case scenario.  Easy, right?

Moronepper.

The bad part is that I have another unopened box of Samoas.
I'm seriously giving them away.

This photo** serves no purpose other than The Cute, and An Attempt At Distraction From My Gluttony.

I hope my employer doesn't read this and offer to pay me in Girl Scout cookies.  There is a scary chance that I would agree to such an offer.

Please, please, please tell me I'm not the only one stuffing Girl Scout cookies in my mouth like a squirrel storing nuts.

*Three were for my mom.  But still.  Five boxes, all for me.
**Except, don't click to zoom on this picture.  Because you will see that Olivia has boogers that can only be qualified as Epic and yogurt in between her eyes.

I totally got suckered into buying 7 boxes of GS cookies this year. All for me! I had to stop myself from buying an 8th, because...duh!...8 would be ridiculous! In my defense, I'm in my 3rd trimester and HUNGRY!!! Especially for sweets. Also, I'd just come back from the vet where I had to put my kitty down. I stopped at the gas station/Dunkin's on my way back for some decaf, and those evil little cuties were standing there ready to attack! I could not resist!

I'm now eyeing my box of Tagalongs that I'm trying to resist. Darn girl scouts...

Samoas (caramel delights in these parts for some reason) are dangerous... but my husband slacked and only bought 1 box. Of course they were gone in 1 night.

When my preggo ass waddled up to the girlscout cookie stand one of the moms said, "Oh sweetie, you're going to need something to carry the cookies in!" And then she gave me a box. And I filled it up with cookies. And I ate them all. Shameful...
But it only happens once a year thankfully :)

8, it's the magic number. 8 boxes of girl scout cookies this year. I gave two boxes to my Brother. Planned on sharing the rest with co-workers but as it turns out I LOVE girl scout cookies and never was that good at sharing. Samoas are heaven and I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the thin mints.

I actually don't buy girl scout cookies because I know that I have no self control and I'd eat them all right away.

I. LOVE. SAMOAS. I bought 3 boxes just the other day. They were all supposed to be for my husband. I ate half a box at work and told him I only bought two!

I’ve always wondered why Girl Scouts want me to be fat!?! Love the Samoas!

I still have a box of Thin Mints in my freezer from last year. Just not that into them...the new Lemon ones? I ate a whole box in 3 days.

Last year, I ordered so many from the girl outside the store that the girl made a comment and the mom shushed her so I would keep ordering.

Former Girl Scout here...thus hopelessly addicted. I recommend cutting up Samoas and mixing them in softened vanilla ice cream. Then refreeze. That way you get your dairy intake for the day.

To Stace- there are two different bakers (Little Brownie Bakers and ABC) thus the two different names. And some varieties actually have a slightly different taste due to that.

Whole box of thin mints in 24 hours.

I'm actually quite proud of myself this year: I didn't buy a single box of Girl Scout cookies.

Don't get me wrong though - if I run into some Girl Scouts selling some somewhere, I doubt I could resist.

I also wouldn't be opposed to someone giving me their cookies.

Samoas are my favorite too. I've always been tempted to look online and see if I could find a recipe for something similar, but, well, that would be the end of my healthy eating days.

I bought 6 boxes...but I SWEAR 2 are for the husband and 1 will go in the freezer for this summer.

I promise.

You believe me, right?

Oh, and Samoas are the best thing since...well....ever. And a close second are those new Berry cookies. Yum.

I had to google Samoas. Turns out they are the same as Caramel DeLites! MY FAVORITE! Why are they called different things? Weird. I also have no idea what a "Tagalong" is. huh.

wow, those are some serious boogies! and i never would have enlarged the picture if you hadn't told me not to do it.

First of all, I'm your blog stalker and LOVE your blog! Secondly, you are not alone w/the girl scout cookies. Thin Mints are my heaven! IDK if you have a dollar general or not, but I've discovered they have the same cookies in an off brand. Awesome!!

I am not sure how often you look in the ice cream section of your grocery store, but two years ago, I found Samoa Ice Cream. I can't remember what brand it was, but they do a girl scout cookie ice cream every year. And let me tell you, that ice cream was the BEST ice cream I have EVER had. I am hoping to one day find it again.

I LOVE girl scout cookies. I bought 4 boxes. I wanted more. If I find any girl scouts out I will buy more tagalongs. I mean COME ON those are so good and there are only 15 cookies per box! I kept them in the car and would eat them while waiting in the car rider line at school to pick up my kids. I couldn't bring them IN the house because then I would have to share.

Yeah, since I was a girl scout for ten million years, I HAVE to buy cookies every time I get that sweet little "would you like to buy some cookies?" My last pack, I bought outside the restaurant where we were about to have dinner and then we opened them up for dessert and ate half the box before we even left the restaurant.

I wish I were kidding when I say that I read this while noming on some Girl Scout cookies myself.....UGH!

I ordered 7 boxes- which 2 were exclusively for my hubby- but the other 5 were Samoas and I actually got pissed when I saw his chubby fingers had opened the first box of Samoas AND had eaten 4 cookies- WTF a-hole? You asked for those nasty ass shortbread ones that he knew I WOULDN'T eat!

I guess I might need an intervention too, cause I walk past the box and eat one- cause 1 at a time can't hurt, right?

I must be completely oblivious because I totally missed out when it came to ordering cookies this year. So sad. Then my husband came home with 5 boxes. I was all excited until I saw that he only bought the nasty ones... shortbread, peanut butter, etc. Where the hell are my Samoas?!!!

kimbosue said...

I only bought 4 boxes. 2 Thin Mints and 2 chocolate peanut butter patty ones for the hubs. I ate 1 whole box in 3 days. There goes my rationing...

We bought 5 boxes as well... we got them on a Thursday. They were gone by Monday. Oops.

I have been trying to convince my hubby for YEARS that girl scouts are the devil. Isn't it illegal to sell addictive substances?? I mean seriously, Samoas are my all time fave and I ate two boxes last week BY.MYSELF. Hubby was giving me all kinds of hell about that until I spoke to my pig-tailed crack...I mean cookie...dealer. Turns out, hubby bought 5 boxes from her, and only brought home 2!! I am going to assume that 1 of those 5 boxes never even made it back to his office. He told me I should feel lucky that 2 of them made it home. Can you file for divorce when your partner is having an affair with sugar??

Oh, the Girl Scout WHORES!!!!!!!!!!!! Peddling their crack cookies with all the cute and pig tails.... BITCHES!!!!!! We really screwed up a few years ago when I ordered the crack..err..cookies. Then the hubs, not knowing that I had already been sucked in to one of those little tramps... errr.. precious little angels selling cookies ordered an additional supply. We ended up with a total of 18 boxes of cookies!!!!!! This is also the same year that asshole... err... loving man bought me an ice cream maker! WTF??????(Him: It attaches to your Kitchen Aid mixer! Me: No it attahes to my ASS!!!!!!) 2 weeks later, no more cookies (SAD FACE!!) But I will say that if you make your own ice cream (and really who doesn't when the store is RIGHT THERE) and add Thin Mints or Samoas to it.......... HEAVEN pure HEAVEN!!!!!! Oh, and then a friend sent me a recipe for a Samoa cake that she swears tastes just like the cookies!!!! I am afraid to even attempt to make this for fear that I would come across as a rabid Spider MOnkey jacked up on Mountain Dew if I actually made it and the hubs or kiddos tried to even sample a crumb!!! F*ing Whores..... err Precious Little Girl Scouts......

10 boxes of thin mints! And, I try to eat them without my boys hearing me crinkle the wrapper. I don't want to share (but I will if I have to).

Samoas are proof of goodness in the world. If they are in my apartment, they are in my stomach. (And p.s., my 11-month-old has a pretty constant layer of squash all over her face. Don't feel bad.)

JenJen said...

awwww SNAP I gotta have me some of those peanut butter ones. I don't even know the name of the cookies...all I remember is the sweet, sweet taste. Shazam!

I am a stalker of your blog, and had yet to comment. I just want to say I do the same with Thin Mints!!! Also, I believe they changed the name of Samoa's, because that is also the name of a race. :)

I almost mugged a soldier on the flight to Turkey last night for a box of Samoas, which he was unwisely flaunting in his seat-back pocket. I have only had one box this year since becoming a SAHM. (I used to buy one box from each student who asked...I had to actually include it in the February budget!) Needless to say, they had better have some Girl Scouts here on base. 2 years without just will. not. do!!

Be careful what you wish for. Having to share your samoas with the little people sucks. They are excellent for bribing (as well as tagalongs) but you'll find that they disappear faster than you can eat them.
