Interim Normal

There are a lot of hours to fill in a day when we are not splitting our time between Olivia at home and Ainsley at the hospital and work. We are just trying to adjust to what was normal a year and a half ago...or fill the time between now and when this new baby arrives.

Wii bowling.  In a bathing suit.
Totally normal.

Here's a little placeholder post to let you know that we are all ok.  And that we appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and kind words.

Have been thinking of your family ever day since I read of Ainsley's passing. I Can't imagine how surreal your new normal must feel right now and my heart aches for you, stranger though you may be. Thank you for taking the time to let us know you are doing ok. Bless you and your sweet girls.

I have been reading your blog for years and want you to know that I have thought of your family and sweet little Ainsley often. A friend(who also reads your blog) and I have cried tears of true sadness over your loss and just wanted to let you know how much her life and you sharing your world with us has impacted me and others. What a beautiful family and my thoughts, prayers and everything else are with you during this time.

Thanks for posting. Thinking about how I'd be in your shoes, I'd have no idea how I'd adjust to the new normal. I'm sure it is a surreal time for all of you. I know you miss your girls. I know you enjoy Olivia. I've been reading your blog for about 4 years. I hug and appreciate my 2 little boys (2 1/2, 7 months) every day. I know how precious life is. I think of you often and pray you are getting some rest. Your house will soon have more baby smiles again. :o)

I don't know what the right thing is to say...I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your precious little girl. I know we don't know each other (I'm new to blogger), but I saw your last post when I was searching for others who have gone through infertility. Then I back-read some of your posts. Your story, and Ainsley's story, touched me and I wanted to let you know that.

May you find peace and strength through this difficult time. Thinking of you.

Sending lots of love as you reestablish life together... sending prayers for gentle healing of the hole that Ainsley left in your lives. I am glad that you are taking time to do things like 'go bowling' (and hey, you never know when that might turn into a pool party!) and be in this moment with Olivia and each other. Sending hugs, sunshine and wishes for peace.

Dear Jen,

I got addicted to your blog about a year ago when i stumbled upon it and read it ALL IN ONE DAY. SInce then I have been riding your rollercoaster ride of your trials of being pregnant with twins, then losing one RIGHT BEFORE your c-section, and then the struggles of Ainsleys health. I hadnt gotten on in a month and just now saw that she left you..so unexpectantly. I am in shock..I can NOT believe you lost your precious girl RIGHT before you will be welcoming another precious girl. I am soo sorry that your story is so full of sorrow and painful times. I truly send you peace to comfort you when the pain of Ainsley leaving seems unbearable, and the warmth of love to wash over you as you look to find a new normal with your new daughter coming so soon.
I know your heart is all over the place and I send YOU peace to be mama to Olivia, yet mourn the loss of your precious baby Ainsley.
May you not feel alone and know that so many feel your loss and send you healing love,
Anthea Gappmayer

My daughter got a Cabbage Patch Kid named Ainsley this week. She's not as cute as your beefcake but I think of your Ainsley often.

Thanks for the note letting us know you are ok. Prayers continuing for all of you.

Sweet photo, btw. Good times.

And I'm so glad you have this new baby to look forward. Not as a replacement for Ainsley, of course, but to add some hope to your lives.
