Nutrisystem, Week 4: A month already!

I am more behind on blogging than I am at life, but only barely.   I've got too many projects going in addition to the two humans I am in charge of feeding and bathing and generally keeping alive.

It has definitely been nice to not have to worry about my food and my meal planning this week.  And I lost another 1.8 pounds!  I am winning at Nutrisystem even though the rest of my life appears to be questionable.

Week 1: -2.4

Week 2: -3.8
Week 3: -1
Week 4: -1.8
Month 1 Total: 9 pounds lost!

I did have my first difficult week this week.  Mostly, I think, because my p-e-r-i-o-d is coming and so I want to Eat All The Things.  I had one actual day where I thought all day about cheating because I really wanted something snacky.  Not my unlimited veggies.  Something delicious and horrible.  Instead I ate an extra 1/4 cup of almonds and then some water with no calorie lemonade added in.

Then, I had a meal that I didn't like and didn't want to eat.  And since I have 28 days of each meal, I can't really try something else because it would screw me up.  So I decided on a giant salad with a bit of cheese and dressing, and some whole grain crackers. It ended up being fine but sucked slightly because I usually really enjoy the Nutrisystem meals so I felt like I was missing out.

AND THEN.  (The woe is nearly done, I swear.)  I went to a game night.  It was so much fun, I loved it.  However, they had so much delicious food - NACHO BAR ZOMG.  I ate before I went so I wasn't hungry, but the social aspect of it was kind of weird.  Everyone was eating but me and I didn't know most of the people so I felt weird being all, "I'm on a diet and stuff" because I didn't want to make people feel bad for enjoying food.  Which I'm sure they couldn't care less what I ate or didn't, but I'm neurotic.  I should have brought something with me, because everything Nutrisystem is totally portable.  Maybe next time, unless they were freaked out by the bedroom eyes I kept giving their bowls of nachos and decide that I am never invited again, ever.

But!  I found some new foods that I totally love again this week. 


Honey Wheat Bagel
Slightly sweet and really, really good.
Definitely doesn't taste like "diet food."

Chicken Tacos
For some reason I thought these would be Meh.
Nope.  I was sad that I didn't have three!

I told Mark that I felt like I was eating at a nice restaurant.  SO GOOD.
I served it the same as this pic - brown rice and zucchini with Italian seasoning.

I am so excited to start month 2.  I am hoping to lose at least 8 pounds, but I think at this point of any diet there will be a plateau.  I have been really lucky so far though!  Plus I think I am ready to exercise again so that will help.  I'm still loving the Nutrisystem plan!

I have a question for you, that I'm sure I could research myself, but since you are technically getting "paid" for this, I thought you could do it.

So I get that the meals are healthy because the portions are the correct size and seem to be balanced, but are they actually using healthy ingriedients? Are there trans fats present, in say, the chocolate donut?

Congrats on the weight loss! I have to admit I'm freaked out by pre-packaged meals in general but yay that you are enjoying them :)

Great job! Nine pounds is a big deal. I totally get what you're saying about the social aspect of eating. I always tend to indulge when I'm around other people because... well I am a sucker for what other people think of me.

Question from me too! What does Mark eat while you do the nutrisystem 'thing'? I have a Mark of my very own (honestly, he even has a birth certificate that says so!) and I just feel like it would be a hassle to make him something and then something different for me. Is it easy for you to both eat at the same time while you do this plan? Thanks!!

9lbs. in a month is awesome!!! Great job! Are you noticing any difference in the way you feel? I noticed after my first month on WW I really started feeling more 'awake' and just all around better.

Keep up the great work! I'm glad you're really enjoying it. That's definitely half the battle.
